BRENDAN MAHATOO

July 14 1992 – May 29 2023

May 29, 2025 marks 2 years since the passing of our beloved Brendan. It is a day full of sadness and grief for those who loved him most. The time passes, but the treasured memories never fade; they live on forever in the hearts of those who yearn to hear his voice, every day.

Bren was passionate about many things; art, reading, writing fantasy novels, his work, and most importantly, making those he loved laugh. He loved to bring joy and laughter to everyone's lives. We try to honour his memory by continuing to share in his passions, and by laughing as often as we can. We gather together to celebrate his life, despite the sadness in our hearts. Bren's absence has taught us to cherish what we have in the present, and to take nothing for granted.

Brendan's mother, Sherri Mahatoo, has had a bench commemorated in his memory in Island Shore Park, in Island Lakes. Yearly scholarships to J.H. Bruns Collegiate, where Bren went to high school, have been established, as well as a memorial scholarship in Brendan's name at the Robson Hall Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba. These scholarships will be given every year to students who exemplify the best qualities of our beloved Brendan, including perseverance in the face of hardship.

Bren, we think about you always. We talk about you still. You have never been forgotten - and you never will. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain,

to walk and guide us through our lives, until we meet again.

Love forever,

Your family
