ROLAND J. LAVALLEE


It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Roland (Rolly) on May 23, 2025.

He leaves to mourn his children, Debbie, Dale (Shannon) and Shaun; his grandchildren, Rena, Marque (Janessa), Mathieu (Kylie), Ian (Paula); his great-grandchildren, Isla and Finley; his brothers, Gerald, Gilles (Lucille), Claude (Suzanne) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-law family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Rene and Marie-Ange; his beloved wife Mona; his son Norman and his sister Estelle.

The Celebration of Life will be held at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in La Salle, MB on June 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the community centre in La Salle

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dad's name to the St. Boniface Hospital palliative Care Unit.

I got to know Rolly through my work at SCE LifeWorks when I was first starting my career and he was always a welcoming, engaging and authentic person.   • Our deepest condolences to the Lavallee Family. Rolly was a wonderful, very active associate lifetime member of the Canadian Culinary Federation and one of the few guiding lights constantly promoting the Culinary arts not only in Manitoba but worldwide. In 1985 Rolly was instrumental in introducing the Cook-Trade Red Seal to Manitoba -1984-1988 in sending our first Culinary Team (Team Manitoba) to Frankfurt, Germany followed in 1992 by Red River College first ever Canada's National student Team.   • My condolences to Rollie's family. Rollie and I sat together on the Highway Traffic board for the province on Manitoba. Always a great visit and many chuckles with this wonderful man. At Christmas he always brought Brandy beans which I now carry on that tradition. Rest in peace pepere.
