Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA EILEEN DAMBLY
The family of Norma Eileen Dambly (nee Schwindt) is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on May 19, 2025. We are comforted in her being reunited with her loving husband, Gilbert.
Norma was born on October 12, 1938 at Lewvan, Saskatchewan. As a young girl in this community, she had the benefit of being surrounded by many loving family members. Norma attended teacher’s college and began her career as an elementary school teacher. Marriage and her husband’s railway career moved her across the prairies and out to eastern Canada. Eventually returning to Winnipeg where they spent their retirement years.
Norma developed lasting friendships wherever she lived through activities such as golfing, curling, church, travelling and playing cards. These friendships were maintained with frequent handwritten letters and phone calls. We believe Norma and Gil will be enjoying a card game and beverage with good friends Ken and Doris Baldwin up in heaven.
Norma was a devoted mother and grandmother to; daughter Shellie Hatch, son-in-law Grant, grandchildren Laura Ladyman (Mat), Karen and Derek (Sydney); son Darren, daughter-in-law Sharon, grandchildren Adelin (Rebecca), Cole and Renae. The “middle sister” will be missed by her sisters, Marlene Harker and Bev Niven and the “out-laws”, sister-in-law Barb Schwindt and brother-in-law Bob Niven. Numerous nieces and nephews will miss their Auntie Toots. Norma was predeceased by her parents Chester and Katie Schwindt, her in-laws Franklin and Anne Dambly, brother Lorne Schwindt, brothers-in-law Edwin Harker, Franklin and Josslyn Dambly and sister-in-law Shirley Dambly.
In accordance with Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
The family wants to express gratitude to Dr. K. Moran du Mueller, Dr. N. Hobson and the team at the Movement Disorder clinic, Riverwood Square management and staff, Riverview Palliative Care team and Brightwater Senior Living management and staff.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norma’s memory to Parkinson Canada @ https://donate.parkinson.ca/ or Phone: 1-888-664-1973

Shellie, Darren and families. I was very sad when your Aunt Marlene called to give me the news that your mom had passed. Your mom and I go back a long way from our time at Lewvan High School along with our many phone calls and letters over the years, sharing news of our families etc. More recently attending each others Anniversary celebrations and connecting in Arizona while your mom and dad were visiting Doris. I know your Mom loved you all very much and was proud of each and everyone’s achievements in life. May she rest in peace. Margaret Schaffer. - Posted by: Margaret Schaffer (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2025
