Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE MARY BEAVIS
Mom passed away peacefully Friday, May 23, 2025 with family at her side.
She lived at Prairie View Lodge since the fall of 2020. The compassion and care by the staff and doctors was exceptional. We would like to acknowledge that this is a special place which provides outstanding care to its residents and fantastic support for their families.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Allie Trembath; brothers, Steve and Earl Trembath; husband, Sam Beavis; daughter-in law, Pam Hickey and granddaughter Jillian Hickey. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Ken (Cathy), Ross (Melanie), Glenn, Raymond and Ian; her grandchildren, Jamie (Jana), Sarah (Tyler), Mark, Meghan (Dave), Allana (Steven), Mary-Kate (Justin), Alysha (Derek) and Sam; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Myla, Payton, Christian, Carter, Dimitri, Brynn and Harper; and brother, Donnie Trembath.
Mom was born June 28, 1928 on a farm close to Holmfield and when she was a young girl they moved to the family home in Cartwright. We have many fond memories of the home with the huge attic! Mom was asked to take a short prep course in 1946 to qualify as a teacher. Her first job was at Middleton School close to Darlingford and later she taught at Clearwater and Crystal City. She did spend some time in Winnipeg upgrading her teaching and working; travelling by train to and from Winnipeg. She remembered leaving Winnipeg by train in 1950 when it was so badly flooded.
Mom met Dad at Clearwater and they were married October 25, 1951 in her parents’ home in Cartwright. Five boys were born in the next nine years! What a busy time as my dad expanded his farming operation. Mom was busy caring for us, making meals, gardening, laundry and much more. It was quite common to have 10 - 11 people at the table!
Mom was so talented. Her oil paintings are displayed in many homes. This will be a lasting legacy and a reminder of her attention to detail. She also enjoyed golfing, curling and was an active member of the UCW.
Mom lived a full life. She showed grace as her health declined and always enjoyed getting her hair done. We will miss her sense of humour and she was so proud of all her family! Rest in peace Mom!
A Memorial Service for Florence will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the Rock Lake Pastoral Charge in Crystal City, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m.
Donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Prairie View Lodge Foundation, Apt. 26 - 424 Broadway Ave. W., Pilot Mound, Manitoba.

Florence was a wonderful woman and I have many fond memories of growing up on adjacent farms. Sincere condolences to all of you “boys”. Also remember babysitting all of you. It does not matter how old you are, or how old your parent was, losing them is difficult. Our thoughts are with you.
