ANDREW MUZYKA

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew (Andy) Muzyka on Sunday, June 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Dad was born June 22, 1935, in Dauphin, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg from the farm in 1970. He was a strong Ukrainian man with a gentle spirit and a generous heart. He openly expressed his love and loyalty to his family, and taught us how to live a humble life, be generous in every way, and always put family first.

Dad, you have left a huge hole in all our hearts. We're so grateful that you are no longer suffering and were able to live your life to the very end in the house that you made our home. We love you and will be reminded of you always and forever, especially at the kitchen table for another game of cribbage.

Left to cherish his life is his loving wife of 66 years, Louise (née Dumont), daughters, Brenda Muzyka, Nancy Modjeski (Teddy), Michelle Gagnon (Joel), grandchildren, Jori Muzyka, Ryan Gagnon (Amy), Justin Gagnon, Saylah Modjeski (Sarah), and great-grandchildren, Véronique, Xavier and Coralie Gagnon.

A private family Celebration of Life will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in dad's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Andy was a man of great strength, presence, kindness, generosity and love for all. He was always so welcoming, and had a smile for everyone. He was always so good to me and my family and he will have a special place in my heart forever. He truly was like a father to me. • To Brenda and the entire Muzyka Family. My family and I are saddened to know of your dear Dad's passing. We learned that your parents had the same desire as our own Mom and Dad, to remain living in their, what turns out to be their forever home. It is a beautiful thing to reach an older age and have family respecting their parents wishes so that they can achieve the next step in life. We all deserve to have the best senior life. They did, because you and your family helped make that happen. Cheers to your Dad and Mom for creating and instilling such love in their childrens' hearts. May your Mom continue to enjoy her life without her partner now, along with your on going commitment in your love for her. • Andy was simply a wonderful man of depth, compassion and humor. He was very much the strong and quieter type when I knew him, although his gentle smile always spoke volumes. And he certainly spoke wisdom and love. He was so proud of his three daughters, Brenda, Nancy, and Michelle, and his grandchildren. Andy worked with his dear wife Louise to provide a warm and welcoming home for family and friends. Sitting in their backyard, sharing amazing food at family dinners, and playing crib with Nancy, Louise and Andy will remain among my most cherished memories. I have been so blessed to have known and been shown the warmth and love of Andy and his family, and to have became part of that family. Andy will be missed, but never forgotten by all the people who were lucky to have been part of his life. Andy certainly knew that death is a transition and I look forward to seeing him again on the other side. I have no doubt he will be smiling his knowing smile. Rest easy Andy. You did a great job in this life. - Posted by: John Campbell (Son-in-Law) on: Jun 04, 2025

  • We hoped to have more time to enjoy your bad jokes, the twinkle in our eye as you told them, the welcome loving embrace we felt when we visited. There was not enough time to say all we wanted. You left a big footprint on our hearts, and you will never be gone as long as we remember you - our dear uncle. - Posted by: Wendy and George (Niece and nephew) on: Jun 04, 2025
