DENNIS MARK DANWICH

DMD

January 3, 1953 - June 3, 2025

With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather at his home in Traverse Bay, MB.

Dennis will be forever missed by his wife of 48 years Laurie, children Lauren, Adam and Preston with wife Cara, precious grandchildren Poppy and Roman. He will be remembered by his many friends and family, nieces and nephews, greats, great-greats and those who called him Uncle D., brothers Ronnie, Gary, Barry and Ken; sisters Diana, Linda, Sharon, Wendy and Bonnie.

He was predeceased by his parents Nellie and Louie, sister Pat and brother Terrance.

To all that knew him: Dennis was Dennis. He had many passions, baseball, boating, camping, curling, his dogs, hunting, going to the cabin, reading the newspaper, snowmobiling, travelling with Laurie, family and friends to Disney, Mexico and Cuba. Everything had a story or an argument or both.

His biggest passion was his business DMD Electric Ltd. that he started in the early 80's and continued to operate until the day of his passing. Our appreciation to our electrician sons, apprentices, helpers, and customers, especially the ones in the northeastern communities where he loved going, you were all part of the DMD journey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Beaches Community Centre, HWY59N, Victoria Beach on Friday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, if you choose please donate to one of the many deserving charities of your choice.

  • I was saddened to learn of Dennis's passing. Many years ago we became friends when we worked for D. Thompson Electric. I can remember many good times we had together at the "lake". He welcomed me to join in the shenanigans that were always present in those days. Over the years we lost the regular contact with each other, but would pick up the friendship with each other when we ran into each other like it was yesterday. Lots of good memories. My deepest condolences to Laurie and the rest of the family - may you rest in peace my brother! - Posted by: Chuck Neufeld (Friend) on: Jun 09, 2025
