Barry Christopher Arklie passed away suddenly on June 4, 2025 at the age of 42.
He is survived by his parents, Linda and Wayne Arklie, brother Rob, nephew Carson (Bella), niece Rhé-Ella and great-niece Aurora. He is also survived by his aunt Diana Sawchuk, uncles, Don and Ron Stewart, and several cousins. Also mourning the loss are the Rantala and Moroz families.
Barry enjoyed the many family camping trips as well as the trips to visit family in BC and friends in Nova Scotia. He went to Riverview School and graduated from Churchill High School in 2000. After graduation he moved to Fernie, BC to work on the ski hill for a couple of years. Upon returning to Winnipeg he delivered the Free Press, worked at roofing, lawn cutting and snow clearing.
Barry’s passions included soccer, skateboarding, snowboarding and music. He loved hanging out with his friends who called him "B-Man". He adored Carson and Rhé-Ella and was always willing to play games with them. He was so proud to be a great-uncle to Aurora.
Barry was always willing to share whether it was candy with Rob when they were young or his opinion on what hockey or football team would win. He had a huge heart!
Special thanks to Ryan and Jill Millar, Matthew Raffey and Matthew Colpitts for being such loyal friends.
Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Churchill Park United Church, 525 Beresford Ave., Winnipeg.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society or the charity of your choice.
