It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Edward Burns, who peacefully passed away at home on May 31, 2025, at the age of 91.
George will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Connie, and their children: Deanna, and Allyson. He was predeceased by his son, Stuart, who is missed dearly. George was a proud grandfather to Jillian, Andra, Stephen, Sean, Colin, Jocelyn, Hannah, Jacob, and Lucas, and a great-grandfather to Henry, and Ada. He will also be missed by his daughter-in-law Lynda, sons-in-law Ken, and Paul, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched with warmth and generosity.
George graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Engineering and worked throughout his life as a civil engineer. He will be remembered by many for his commitment to engineering consulting and his professional integrity. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, George built lifelong friendships there before moving to Ontario in 1977 with Connie and their three children. His sense of humour, charm, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met, enriching the lives of all who knew him.
