It is with great sadness that Joan's children, Elizabeth, Barbara and James (Valerie) and Joan's grandchildren, Alexander and Andrew share that Joan passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025.
Joan was born in Cobourg, Ontario on June 10, 1931, to Helen and John Delanty.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Norman Erskine and by her sister Sheila Gallivan (Bob). Joan is survived by brothers, Jim Delanty (Monica) and Peter Delanty (Suzanne).
Joan was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was a woman of strong and compassionate faith and if she could not attend church she would watch mass on the formidable iPad. Joan enjoyed a good conversation about current affairs, a healthy discussion on politics, and a good game of bridge.
Joan cherished her many friendships and family ties.
Mom was a great support to all of us for which we will always be grateful.
There will be a funeral mass on June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. Following the service there will be a lunch gathering at 71 Woodgreen Place.

Woodgreen Place Neighbours were the best Bridge players, party goers & all around great folks. Norm was sadly missed and now Joan will be too!! Barb, Elizabeth, Jamie & family, you had great parents and I know the grandkids will miss Joan!
