BRUCE EWEN
(WILLIAM ALEXANDER)
July 31, 1917 - June 30, 2000
Bruce was born in Waldeck SK, lived in Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Port Coquitlam, and Regina.
He volunteered with the International Brigades (MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion) in the Spanish Civil War and then served in Italy and the Netherlands as an officer with the Canadian Army in WW2.
He was endlessly curious, loved mathematics, language, and teaching and brought up his children with a sense of wonder in the world.
We remember his lessons, linotype, and love.
