Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • I just happened on a whim to look you folks up in the internet. I do this occasionally to remember people. I see that Walter has gone to be with God. Our sincere condolences to Hilda and family. God be with you and comfort you. Maria and Alec - Posted by: Maria Rajbar (Friend) on: Aug 21, 2025

  • Mr Thiessen is how I called him. As the years went by sometimes it would be Walter. Just heard of his passing wish we would have known and would have been at his funeral. We visited a short time ago regarding some paperwork. He had been out of the hospital for a bit. We had a great visit. Condolences to Mrs Thiessen and family. A Christian man who lived his life by example. - Posted by: Peter and Marianne Toews (Clients) on: Jul 14, 2025

  • One of my earliest memory of Walter and his wife Hildegard is that they were both in a play, with others, re-enacting the story of Ruth in the Bible, and the play was performed on a stage in the basement of Central MB Church. That was a very long time ago; probably around 55 years ago. Always friendly and soft spoken, and kind. Thank you for living out your faith in the real world. - Posted by: Lawrence Arendt (Friend) on: Jul 02, 2025

  • When my husband Joe and I visited Uncle Walter in the hospital in mid-May, we found him to be the same wonderful man he'd always been: warm, alert, and full of good humour and great memories. I remember Walter's interest and kindness to me when I was a child and at the various stages of my life. We didn't see each other often, but he always felt like a "real" uncle, though I was his niece by marriage. I used to love his stories of northern Manitoba and his lawyer jokes. Joe and I were so glad to see him one more time, and we feel his absence from this world that he worked hard to make better. Our deepest sympathies to Aunt Hilda and to my cousins Monica and Tim and their families, and to my cousin Jen. We know your loss is profound, and you are in our hearts at this time. - Posted by: Karen Simons (Niece) on: Jul 02, 2025

  • So sorry to hear of Walter's passing. Walter was a very good friend for many years. We attended Sunday school together in the MB Church in Steinbach, Man. Later attended school together for many years then went on with life but reconnected several years ago and had some very interesting emails together. I wish all the very best to Hildegard and their family. - Posted by: C.Neil REMPEL (Friend) on: Jul 02, 2025

  • For over 40-years, Walter was our lawyer. We had also attended some Bible studies over the years. So very sorry to hear of his passing and our prayers are with his family - Posted by: Joyce and Henry Dueck (Law firm clients) on: Jun 30, 2025

  • Several family members were clients over the years and we were all saddened to hear of his passing. Sincerest condolences are extended and our thoughts and prayers are with all of his loved ones. - Posted by: Barb and Tim (Law practice clients) on: Jun 30, 2025

  • As the introductory paragraph stated, Walter (and his wife Hildegard) showed me and my family much compassion and kindness. It didn´t matter whether I was a young teenage babysitter, or whether taking part in Bible studies, or whether living as missionaries in Paraguay. We praise God for Walter´s example of Christian living. - Posted by: Irmi Lepp (Friend of the family) on: Jun 30, 2025
