BARBARA (BARBI) LYNNE BOULT
Date of Passing: Jul 06, 2025
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA (BARBI) LYNNE BOULT
Barbara "Barbi" Lynne Boult (Coiner), 78, passed away peacefully, in her home, on July 6, 2025.
Barb will be lovingly remembered by her children, Scott (Jolene) and Sarah (Michael), and grandchildren, Emma, Grayson and Owen. She also leaves her sister Diane Sparrow (Bob) and extended family.
Barb was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB by Mary Coiner (Chmara). She often spoke fondly of growing up on Manitoba Avenue with her cousins nearby. Barb graduated from the University of Manitoba and was an educator with the Winnipeg School Division. She was an exceptional teacher who loved her work fiercely and the people she worked with, especially the students, and they her. It was not uncommon for former students to approach Barb many years later and tell her so. She recognized and remembered every one.
Barb loved the Arts. Her greatest passion was dance. Barb danced at Rainbow Stage, proudly performing the role of Anybody in Westside Story, and was a professional dancer with the School of Contemporary Dancers. She also performed at the Hollow Mug for many years and continued her love of dance with "The Girls at Dancing", who provided a lifetime and lifeline, of inspiration, friendship and movement.
Barb was renowned for her fashion sense; if you know the Corydon/Osborne area, chances are you've encountered this blonde bombshell going about her day. She was meant to live in New York, or near an ocean; she loved the glamour of city life but her heart was at the beach. She enjoyed travelling independently to Mexico throughout her later years, and Winnipeg Beach with her grandkids, who were her pride and joy.
A private cremation has taken place. If friends so desire, donations may be made to:

Barb and I taught at Sargent Park school. Barb was a breath of fresh air. She had a great sense of humour and was always quick to respond. My most vivid memories are of the School band trips we took with Barb as one of our female supervisors. On a trip to Banff Barb was with me on her first trip in gondola. As we pushed off Barb expressed an expletive. That was Barb. Rest in peace Barb and thanks for your friendship. - Posted by: Ralph Harold Link (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2025

I was so sorry to learn of Barb’s passing. She was such a vivid and unforgettable part of my early years on Elm Street. A neighbour, "second mom," a friend, and, in many ways, a shining star. I have many fond memories of Barb: doing pysanka, letting the kids "go swimming" in her maroon jacuzzi tub, doing home perms in the kitchen with my mom, and watching her perform on stage. I remember Barb dancing in the living room to Tina Turner: high heels, full glamour, and pure joy. In later years, she would attend every one of my mom's choir shows, singing along loud and proud, even if she didn't know the words. To me, she was larger than life. A firecracker with infectious energy, unmatched style, and a spirit that lit up every room she entered. In my eyes, she truly was a star. The Stevenson family mourns her loss alongside all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We’re so grateful for the memories, the music, and the sparkle she brought into our lives. Sending love to Scotty and Sarah and the whole family from the Elm Street kids. Rest in peace, Barb. You’ll always be dancing in our hearts. - Posted by: Lindsay Stevenson (Neighbour) on: Jul 16, 2025

Barb was such a good friend. We met at Sargent Park school. We often met on the bus on the way to work. She was so much fun to ride with. She often said that one day she would write a book titled Winnipeg Bus Stories. She could sure spin some good ones. We retired at about the same time and continued our friendship by getting together for meals or a glass of wine. There was always good conversation and laughter. She was such a good friend and I will miss her dearly. My heartfelt condolences to Sarah, Scott and family. Rosetta Lovato - Posted by: Rosetta Lovato (Friend) on: Jul 15, 2025

I was so sorry to learn of Barbara's passing. I was at Rainbow Stage recently and recalled the very first production that I had attended. It was West Side Story and a teenaged Barbara from the "north end" was one of the leads, singing and dancing her way to the best published reviews. She was amazing, and I was in awe, although in spite of her talent, brains, beauty and wonderful sense of humour she was always humble and gracious. She will be missed. Barb will always be remembered at Jeannette's Danceaerobics classes at St. George's Church. For years Barb added flair and humour to the routines, delighting us all with the occasional extra props she brought to class- cowboy hats, boas. She danced with grace and "attitude!". You will be missed, Barb, but I'm sure your spirit lives on, brightening up the universe. - Posted by: Margaret Koniuck (Friend) on: Jul 12, 2025

Fond memories of Barbara from a very young age. Barbara brought love, laughter and fashion to every gathering. And WOW, to watch her perform. She was awesome! Loved the comment by B.L., “For her the world was her stage.” Barbara was a very special lady and a dear friend. I will miss her very much. But special memories always in my heart. Sincere sympathy and love to all the family. Gloria Milroy, friend. - Posted by: Gloria Milroy (Friend) on: Jul 12, 2025

Sincerest condolences to Sarah & Scott. My fondest memories with your mom are a few times we shared the stage at the Hollow Mug, all those many reheasals to prepare the many musicals at school, the many music trips including of course, the shopping at Ikea, and the many times she was our guest in Mexico and at Grand Beach. It is with sadness that I see her go, but I know that she is now at peace. - Posted by: Linda Leonard (friend and fellow teacher) on: Jul 12, 2025

Mrs. Boult was my teacher at Sir John Franklin in the early 80’s. I adored her and thought she was a movie star. She encouraged reading and a love of art. I loved those school years. Condolences to her family. - Posted by: Lesley Phimister (Former student) on: Jul 12, 2025
