Mr. J was my photography teacher at Crocus Plains 1981-84. He showed me how to love and appreciate light, motion, shadow, shape and composition. I don’t remember a lot of what I learned in school, but I remember everything I did in Mr. J’s studio and darkroom like it happened yesterday. He also taught me how to be a responsible person and a good man. His advice to me after I turned in a substandard assignment was that I should care more. “If you don’t care, you’re not worth a pint of warm p*ss,” he told me. I took those words to heart and still think about the concerned tone in his voice the day he said them. He cared and it showed. F8 and be there, Mr. J you will live on in all the lives you touched. - Posted by: Doug Nairne (Former student) on: Sep 05, 2025
