Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN ALEXANDER EVANS
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Alexander Evans on September 5, 2025, at the age of 79 years, while visiting family in B.C.
Predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Alec Evans, brother Robert and sisters Joan and Gayle, Brian is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirle Evans (nee Patterson); sons Brent (Jenn) and Christopher (Lisa); and five grandsons, Brayden, Gage, Carter, Brody and Rowan.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Brian was invested in his community. He began his career with the St. Vital/Winnipeg Police Department in 1968, before channeling his drive and ingenuity into building a successful security and safety consulting business in the early 1990s. In 2005, he partnered with his good friend Bob to form Concentric Risk and Security Management (CORS), where he remained until his retirement in 2017. Through every chapter, Brian’s commitment to those around him and his ability to bring people together remained at the heart of his work and life.
Brian loved to travel with Shirle and their friends, and was always eager to meet new people, make new connections, and embrace new experiences. He had a gift for making others feel welcome - whether it was strangers across the world or his closest family and friends across the dinner table. Brian took pride in creating a home atmosphere filled with warmth, belonging, and love, and always went out of his way to make sure that everyone left his presence feeling a little lighter than when they arrived.
Brian believed in a “go big or go home” approach to life, but mostly he just liked to go big. He had a knack for transforming routine social interactions into unforgettable experiences. He was the person you wanted at your table at a wedding or family gathering, the person whose side you didn’t want to leave at a party (because if you did there was a chance you’d miss hearing an epic story). His nieces and nephews knew him as the fun uncle - their co-conspirator, the good-humoured instigator - and his sons and grandsons knew him as an attentive, playful and devoted father and grandfather who never ran out of time or patience for a new adventure.
Brian will be eternally remembered for his deep and unwavering love for his family, his hearty laugh, and his ability to make even the mundane seem memorable.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held October 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Boniface Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Salvation Army. And if you’d like to honour Brian in your own way: Tell a story, share a laugh, or make a new friend. It’s precisely what he would have wanted.

Brian and I met during High School when we played on the same football team. Throughout the years we have maintained our friendship both on a professional and social level. Last Fall we had a mini-reunion of sorts when we and a number of our former teammates got together for lunch. Brian was a true professional who always maintained the highest level of integrity. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. My condolences to Shirley and the rest of his family. A truly nice guy gone way too soon. Ken Collins - Posted by: Ken Collins (Friend) on: Sep 26, 2025
