Date of Passing: Sep 01, 2025
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMANNY (MARIA MANUELA) MARTINS-KARMAN
We lost Manny Martins-Karman on September 1, 2025, but she will forever hold a place in our minds.
Manny was a woman with so many facets.
She was a sister, a daughter and a mother. She was truly a partner with her husband Greg and in their 36 year marriage they loved each other as much as humanly possible every single day.
She was a creator: in her work as a graphic designer; in her paintings.
She was a fierce advocate for body positivity and spread this message through her social media. She sought out brands that produced clothing in all sizes and then proudly displayed herself as a stylish woman, inspiring others to do the same regardless of size or age.
She promoted health and fitness in a way that took body size and age out of the equation. We are so proud of her qualifying to compete at the Canadian Powerlifting Union National Championships. Her goal was to qualify for worlds, but regardless of the outcomes she would be proud of the effort and that she may have inspired others her age or any age to be more active in a way that improved their health, confidence and quality of life.
In all these facets, she lit up the room, lit up faces, and lit up minds. She was a diamond.
Come celebrate her life with us on October 7, 2025, at the Winnipeg Art Gallery between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. This is come and go format event. Please bring only a memory to share, a story to tell. Light refreshments will follow a virtual biography presentation at 7:00 p.m. Dress code: Wear what makes you happy!

I never realized that a complete stranger could have such an impact with the simplicity of wearing what you love. Manny helped me learn to live my authentic self and what a sense of freedom this brings. I’m still in a bit of disbelief that it is the memories of her boldness and brightness that remains and not the warrior of a women herself. - Posted by: Kellie (Social media) on: Oct 06, 2025

Manny was a true inspiration to me. We callaborated on many jobs together. We would often be laughing our butts off, hunched over slapping our knees trying to catch a breath. I loved her so much. I moved to Toronto shortly after her son was born but, we stayed in touch and she still inspired me from afar. I love you Manny❤️ - Posted by: michelle Delisle (Friend) on: Sep 29, 2025

I have fond memories of Manny coming over at XMAS time with her young children to share us their baking with us. She was always so cheerful and we always chatted when we'd meet on the street or wave as she passed by in her car. Her enthusiasm in all she did will always stay with me. - Posted by: Mike Grandmaison (Friend and neighbour) on: Sep 23, 2025
