RUDY C. ISAAK
Rudy passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, a few weeks before his 90th birthday.
He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Dolores, daughters, Pamela (Greg) and Paula (Michael) and grandchildren, Gillian and Oliver Kiessling. He was predeceased by his first wife Gail with whom he had a long and loving marriage.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Rudy graduated from the University of Manitoba in Civil Engineering. He devoted his career to projects in northern Manitoba and northern Canada where he developed a love for the north and its people. He spent the last ten years of his career working for a First Nation engineering firm where he loved mentoring young indigenous engineers.
Rudy was a generous and caring man who supported many local organizations and was a passionate Jets and Bombers fan. He was active in volunteer organizations including the Association of Professional Engineers of Manitoba, the Winnipeg Winter Club, the Manitoba Museum, and the Victoria Beach Club. He was an avid tennis player, loved golf, and spent many happy years sailing his Laser on Lake Winnipeg.
Victoria Beach held a very important place in Rudy’s heart; he owned a cottage there for 56 years and loved spending time there with friends and family members. Rudy loved to travel and explored many countries during his life including a cruise to Alaska with Dolores in July 2025.
Rudy was grateful for the care he received during his illness; he asked us to tip the nurses in the ER in his final days! In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The Winnipeg Foundation or the United Way Winnipeg.
A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, September 27, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home.

I’m so sorry to see that Rudy has passed. He and Dolores had a short but happy time together. She enjoyed their time together so much. As a friend of Dolores. I think it is wonderful that they had a time of mutual delight and understanding before he passed away. - Posted by: Helen Norrie (Friend) on: Sep 26, 2025

My deepest sympathies on Rudy’s passing. Rudy, as President of APEM, signed my P.Eng. Certificate registration in 1980 and as Partner in IDE, continued to mentor me throughout my engineering career. Forever grateful. - Posted by: Gil Mourant (Colleague at IDE) on: Sep 24, 2025
