It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita on September 18, 2025, at the age of 70.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at St. Andrew’s River Heights United Church, 255 Oak Street, Winnipeg, MB. Reception to follow.

We just found out today that Rita has died. We spent much of the afternoon telling stories and sharing memories of all you during our St. Andrew's days. Rita's faith and energy were wonderful gifts she shared. Blessings to you John and Kristin, Jamie and Laurin. May she rest in peace and rise in glory. It is with deepest sadness that I learned of Rita's passing. Rita's Family and mine had close connections as Rita's Mom was my Teacher for 2 years. Audrey Cassels, Rita's Mom, also boarded at our Family's place. My Parents considered Audrey to be part of our family and the friendship continued for many years. Unfortunately the miles have kept Rita and Eleanor and I apart but they have always remained in my heart and prayers. It was wonderful to have Rita do the sermons some time ago at Windsor Park United Church and go out for lunch together with Eleanor and Rita. Rita - You will be dearly missed!
