RUTH ANN SPENCE

(nee PAUL)

November 2, 1937 - October 15, 2025

The Life of our beautiful Ruth Ann has ended at St. Boniface hospital.

Born as an only child to the late Wilfred Paul and Helen Chimley and was raised by her father and aunt Edytha after her parents separated.

Childhood was filled with figure skating, ballet, summers at Kenora with relatives. As a teen she met, dated and married Tom. This lasted 69 years. Blessed with the birth of four children. Than came seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In mid-life, Ruth met her estranged mother and two half siblings and their children. Another blessing.

2000 brought the dreaded diagnosis that required many day surgeries, two huge surgeries over a decade, cured cancer but led to life long hemodialysis. Ruth accepted this as part of life and thrived for 13 years. She was grateful for the caring staff and the friendships with them all. She had hip and arm surgeries from falls at home that were difficult but received well. The complications from a September 2025 abdominal surgery denied recovery.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Tom,. Also, son Tom ( Caroline); granddaughters Brittany, Katrina; great-grandson Noah, Elliot Spence; grandsons Gavin, Jonathon; great-granddaughter Jane Gosling; sons Paul; granddaughter Kathleen (Mike); great-granddaughter Mya, Sofia, Effie and great-grandson Zane, Ezekial Manu; son Neil.

Ruth was predeceased by senior family; her daughter Heather Ann; grandsons Andrew Gosling, Jason N-Spence; great-grandson Jackson Gosling.

Ruth Ann lived a life of love for family and friends, caring for others, greeting people with a smile, and great courage to meet life's challenges.

Cremation has taken place with a private internment to follow. Email: Tspence1@outlook.com
