YVONNE REGINA DAY

Yvonne Regina Day, aged 91 years, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Fairview Home with her daughter-in-law, Regan, by her side.

Born on May 20, 1934, in Toutes Aides, Manitoba, Yvonne attended St. Charles Convent in Winnipeg, then left to work at the Manitoba Club. That was followed by teaching positions in Waterhen and Neelin, Manitoba, where she met her future husband, Gordon Day. Yvonne and Gordon were married in 1954 at St. Felix-de-Valois Church in Dunrea, Manitoba. They resided in Dunrea and Winnipeg before finally settling in Brandon.

Yvonne worked at Peoples Credit Jewelers, Frank Lawson & Son, and then spent the rest of her working career as Secretary at St Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church. After retirement, she volunteered at the church and was a member of the UCT, Brandon Chapter.

Yvonne was generous, full of life and tried to make those around her smile. She made friends wherever she went and was a great mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Yvonne will be lovingly remembered by her children Darryl (Shelley) Day, Randy (Lois) Day, and Kelvin (Regan) Day; grandchildren Dallas (Krista) Kreller, Scott (Breana) Day, Jordan (Kat) Day, and Des (Matt, Harmony, and Theo) Mills, and Jay Day; and one great-grandchild Jayden. Yvonne is also survived by brother Phil (Ruth) Gelinas, many nieces and nephews especially Dora (Larry) Wark, Lucille (Denis) Rondeau, Marianne Boulet, and Joan Patridge.

She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Florida Gelinas, husband Gordon Day and her remaining siblings and their spouses.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Fairview Home for taking such good care of mom.

The Celebration of Yvonne’s Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Yvonne will be laid to rest beside her husband Gordon at Killarney Cemetery.
