Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNEKE TERWISSCHA
With deep love and gratitude for her life, the family of Anneke Terwisscha announces her passing. Anneke went to be with her Lord after a lifetime filled with faith, creativity, and devotion to her family.
Anneke was born in the Netherlands on May 12, 1946, and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 12. It was in Canada that she met and married the love of her life, Eddie Terwisscha, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Anneke and Eddie cherished their time travelling to Europe, South America, spending winters in Florida, Arizona, Texas, and making lasting memories with their family camping across Canada and enjoying summers in the Whiteshell.
She was a devoted mother to Brenda (John Oosterveen) and Veronica (John Van Leeuwen), and a proud grandmother to Jonathan (Moriah), Jeremy (Fola), Hannah (Jon Cavers), and Rebekah - and she was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandson. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took every opportunity to encourage, celebrate, and spend time with them.
Anneke was predeceased by her loving parents, Fiekje (Freda) and Poppe (Peter) Bosma, and her infant sister, Jetske Antje. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Douwe Bosma (Jessie), Gerben Bosma (Dorothy), Shirley Engbers (Alex), Alice Brink (Gerrit), Harry Bosma (Eileen), Romko Bosma (Grace), and Randy Bosma as well as many nieces and nephews.
Despite facing many years of health challenges, Anneke’s zest for life and gentle strength never wavered. She had a remarkable creative spirit - her love of painting, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and music brought beauty and warmth into the lives of those around her. She was an active member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed attending many services and having coffee with her friends.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the joy she shared so freely with others. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace in her eternal home.
A service to celebrate Anneke’s life will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Avenue.
Thank you to the staff at Cancer Care for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Anneke’s memory.
