LOUISE VILLA COTE

November 6, 1935 - November 3, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Villa Cote three days shy of her 90th birthday. Calmly, quietly and fearlessly Louise left us in the early morning of November 3, 2025, with family by her side.

Louise is predeceased by her husband James, her son Wendell and daughter Lydia and many family members.

Louise was always mentally sharp, physically strong and morally solid, the perfect life guide and teacher for hers and James six children. Wendell (Rachel), Lynn (Larry), Lydia (Brian,) Cindy (Tom), Kerry and Randy (Marie).

Her 11 grandchildren Jamie, Tony (Tracy), Jody (Ryan), Wayne (Kristin), Keaton (Candis), Stephanie (Alex), Sarah (David), Brett (Amanda), Lauren (Carson), Connor (Amanda), and Brandi. As well as her 17 great-grandchildren Tristen (Jade), Remi, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Trinity, Jase , Keara, Liam, Madden, Florence, Elodie, Isabelle, Norah, Casey, Jesse, Keanu and Alina.

In the days prior to her passing Louise drew upon her strength, character, stubbornness, and grace to provide time for the family to share the love care and concern she gave to everyone fortunate enough to be part of her life.

As our family gathered, we filled her room with memories, laughter, love, and stories of her kind positive and welcoming nature. No matter whom she was with or wherever she was she made you feel like you were in her kitchen. Her ears heart and fridge were always open. She never turned anyone away.

Louise was tireless and focused on the well being of her very extended family.

Solid sturdy and smart she passed her extensive art, crafting, crocheting, bookkeeping, gardening, sewing, cooking, and family skills to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends.

People were drawn to her by her warm smile, kind eyes, quick wit, and always being present and in the moment even as her time approached, she was attentive to conversation and always enjoyed visits.

Sensing her job was done and we were all going to be alright she slipped away to hold the hand of James, Wendell and Lydia.

Many thanks to the staff at Vita Personal Care Home for their care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, desired donations in Louise’s memory can be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation
