Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUIS CHRISTOPHER ADDISON
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Louis, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Assiniboine Centre. He peacefully passed with his two daughters lying by his side.
Louis loved walking and getting his 10,000 steps a day. He loved to be outdoors camping, fishing and going on his bike rides. He enjoyed spending his time relaxing on his recliner listening to his favorite playlist. He loved to have his friends and family over for happy hour, snacks and home cooked meals. Saturday nights you could find Louis at the Legion for the meat draw. For years he was a proud Elks & Legion Member. Louis also loved dancing, golfing, thrifting, spending time at the lake, boating, having bonfires, and playing pool.
Louis was born on May 2, 1941, in Pont Viau, Quebec. He then moved to Martintown Ontario. As the years went on, he took up residency in Souris, Alexander, Thompson, Virden, and then went on to eventually settle in Brandon, Manitoba.
On August 25, 1962, he married his first wife Marjorie Mann. They were married for 35 years. Together they had 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. He remarried in 2001 to Reta White where they shared their time together in Virden, Manitoba.
Louis’ real passion was construction. His very first project was building a school and then he went on to build houses, apartment blocks, and RTM homes. In 1977 Louis and his 3 brothers started their own family construction business, called PLAR Buildings; PLAR standing for Paul, Louis, Albert, & Roch
Louis is leaving behind his children Luc (Wendy), Suzette (Ken), Yvonne (Dean), Roger, Rene (Laura), Lise and his 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Louis also leaves behind his siblings Madeleine and Albert.
Predeceased by his parents Flore and Paul and his siblings Jeanne, Roch and Paul.
On behalf of the family, we’d like to give huge thanks to Dr. Minders and all of the wonderful staff that cared for our dad, Louis. They went above and beyond caring for him during his final days. Thank you for all of the kindness and compassion you showed him and his family.
At Louis’ request there will be no service. Interment will be sometime in the spring and with immediate family only.
