BARBARA HAMM
Barbara passed from our lives, surrounded by family, in the Assiniboine Centre, on Monday, November 10, 2025. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons Glenn (Marlyn), Alan (Sandy), David (Sheryl), Murray (Rheanne) Kelly (Barb), Brian (Shelley), 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews and multitudes of friends who were a wealth of love throughout her lifetime.
She was predeceased by her father Daniel who gave his life April 1943, while returning home during Second World War, as a merchant marine on the Lancastrian Prince, when a German U- boat sank his ship off the shores of Newfoundland.
She was also predeceased by her mother Eva, her stepfather Alfred Ash and her sisters Iris Zimmerman and Sylvia Newis. Barbara was born in Nipawin, SK on October 02, 1931. Barbara moved with her mother and sisters to Flin Flon, MB in the early 1940s. Barbara worked for many years in the Brandon lab and gained loving friendships that continued up until her passing. She also worked tirelessly at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church in various capacities until her retirement.
The family is grateful to have had the support of the staff at both Brandon Regional Health Centre and the Assiniboine Centre. They would like to send a special thank you to great grandson Sawyer for his assistance with this obituary.

Very sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a dear friend of my Mom, Eileen Hamel, who taught several of you boys. She and you are in my prayers. - Posted by: Barb Saylor (nee Hamel) (daughter of a friend) on: Nov 15, 2025
