Royce Eddie Anderson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on the family homestead in Grosse Isle, Manitoba, on November 2, 2025, just shy of his 88th birthday. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1937, Royce, better known to all as Tbone, lived a life defined by hard work, ingenuity, and boundless devotion to his family.
Tbone was blessed to spend his entire life on the family homestead, and the family is comforted knowing he had his final wish to pass away in the place he loved most.
In his early years, Tbone briefly left the farm, working up north in places like Coal Harbour and Churchill. He returned home and embarked on a long and successful career as a journeyman plumber, working for Mikkelson-Coward for over 35 years.
In 1984, Tbone and his beloved wife, Arlene, embarked on an extraordinary venture, transforming the family farm into one of Manitoba’s premier banquet facilities, Hitch 'n Post Country BBQ Inc. As an entrepreneur and host, Tbone welcomed countless guests, hosting weddings, business events, and national and international conventions. One of his proudest moments was hosting a convention in the early 90s for over 1000 people. His countless friends and inspirational spirit made "The Hitch" a cherished landmark.
Tbone officially retired in 2002 but always stayed busy, enjoying "puttering" around the farm and befriending all the stray cats that found their way to the barn. He was an inspiration and a true patriarch who taught his children and grandchildren the importance of integrity and hard work.
The family expresses their profound gratitude for the love and dedication Tbone showed every day. "Thank you, Dad, you meant so much to us, taught us right, and raised an amazing family. Fly high now and be in peace. We love you."
Tbone is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of over 40 years, Arlene Kaiser, and his children: Shannon, Paula (Chris), Wendy, Pam (Mitch), and Kyle (Louise).
He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren: Chelsea (Bern), Shelby (Mike), Taylor (Tyler), Amy (Connor), Josh, Jacenta, Thalissa, Natalia, Camron, Kylie (Dave), Sara, and Hunter; and 9 great-grandchildren: Liam, Scottie, Levi, Anders, Ivy, Georgia, Mia, Harper, and Axell. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Rolly), and Joan Nelson, mother of his children.
Tbone was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Gertrude, and his brother, Bill.
As per his wishes, no formal service will be held.
