It is with great sadness that the family of Alanna Opalick announces her accidental passing in Ottawa on August 4, 2025, at the age of 59 years.
Alanna will be forever missed by Todd, her loving husband of 28 years, and her two cherished children, Paige in Toronto, and Evan in Ottawa. She will also be missed by her parents, Nestor and Katherine Ulicki in Winnipeg, her sister Karen in Calgary, and her sister-in-law Karen in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her sister Jennifer in Ottawa. Also left to mourn are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and friends.
Alanna was born and raised in Winnipeg and moved to Ottawa in 1992 to complete graduate school and later worked for the federal government for over 20 years. The biggest joy of her life was raising her two children, Paige and Evan, whom she played an active role in their lives offering guidance and support.
She lived her life with compassion and generosity, and over the last few years, attended to the needs of her aging parents. Alanna's life ended much too soon but her love, wisdom, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
