Margaret Jean Kaufman (née Holmes) was born on December 17, 1940, in Minnedosa, Manitoba, and was called to her eternal home on November 7, 2025, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the beloved daughter of Tom and Elsie Holmes.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Eldon; her son, Robert (Nancy); and her two cherished grandchildren, Evan and Owen.
Born and raised on a farm near Minnedosa, Margaret developed a strong sense of family, faith, and community that remained with her throughout her life. After moving to Winnipeg, she married Eldon in 1963.
She began her career with CN Rail and completed it with VIA Rail, devoting 34 years of professional and dedicated service.
Margaret was actively involved in her church, where she shared her love of music through piano playing and singing in the choir. Her time there brought her great joy and fulfillment. She deeply cherished the many friendships she formed and the wonderful memories created within her church community.
Margaret also enjoyed traveling, cross-country skiing, and curling - activities that reflected her enjoyment of the outdoors. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
In the last years of her life, Margaret resided at Bethania Personal Care Home. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff for their many years of wonderful and compassionate care.
A private memorial service will take place, with interment at Glen Eden Funeral Home.
