LYNDA SHIRLEY SWEETLAND
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynda Shirley Sweetland on November 13, 2025, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the city where she was born on August 1, 1950, and lived a full and loving life.
Lynda was predeceased by her beloved husband Don Sweetland, and by her parents Shirley and Fred DeCarle. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters Tannis (Trevor) and Andrea (Barry); her grandchildren Kristin (Warren), Brendan, Emma (Spencer), Evan, Ethan, and Jackson; and her great-grandchild Parker.
Family was the heart of Lynda’s world. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and loved being part of their lives. She also had a deep affection for her cat, Maxwell, whose companionship brought her much comfort and joy. A devoted Winnipeg Jets fan, Lynda rarely missed a game and cheered passionately for her team.
Lynda will be remembered for her warmth, loyalty, and the unwavering love she showed to those around her. Her presence, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB. Inurnment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
