RONALD EDWARD MACINTOSH

May 14,1947 - November 15,2025

Our family announces the passing of our loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Ron and Helen MacIntosh, his sister Sandra, and daughter-in-law Angie Peterson-MacIntosh. Surviving Ron is his wife Tammy of 60 yrs, his three sons Ron (Cara), Scott (Angela) Kerry (Tasha) and daughter Shauna (Boris Bruske), grandsons Julien and Xander Bruske.

Ron was born in Winnipeg and grew up the majority of his life in Silver Heights and St. James. Ron met Tammy at Victoria beach over a cherry coke, and the rest was history. He attended Britannia, Silver Heights Collegiate, and United College before embarking on an accounting career with Robinson Green and Murray McClarty & Co., graduating with his CA degree in 1971.

He enjoyed his association and membership with many clubs; always serving as president, he received and was very proud of his senator ship from the Canada Jaycees as a member of St. James Assiniboine and a proud member of the St. Andrew Society.

He enjoyed sailing races with his father Sunday mornings at Victoria Beach, swinging a golf club with a ball that never seemed to go in the right direction, fishing when everyone except him was catching….and hunting with his boys and friends. He enjoyed travelling with Tammy and seeing what the rest of the world had to offer, enjoying the food, and people he met. Plans for hunting this season were not to be when a cancer diagnosis was confirmed in September. In spite of this devastating news, he was positive and optimistic for his future.

Ron touched and influenced many lives especially his children and grandsons with his work ethic, and commitment to his family. He was very proud of his grandsons as they continue their education at the University of Manitoba in pursuit of their own careers.

Ron always said. “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life”. He was “Chef Extraordinaire, from soups, amazing mussels, deep fried pickerel and the best prime rib-medium rare. He was meals on wheels during Covid; making soups for friends and a full Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner meal for our family. I was the uber that delivered - a very difficult time for everyone.

He was happy to let go of Douglas Park Road after 52 years and enjoyed the freedom of no grass cutting in the summer and no shoveling in the winter. Ron enjoyed Condo living even if only for the last three years.

R.I.P. Ron, you were the best, simply the best.

A celebration of his life will take place December 18 at 1:00 p.m. at The Gates, 6495 Roblin Blvd.

Donation in his memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, even though he disliked being in hospital, he was very impressed with the kind and professional care he received at the Grace Hospital during his diagnosis and stay. Donation to your own favourite charity.

  • Dear Tammy and Family, I am so very sorry about Ron's passing. I often think of you and remember all the great and fun stories you talked about. With Ron, your children and your travels there was always lots of humour to pass on to make someone else's day a bit more cheery. My heart goes out to you and your family, and may the happy times and memories shared from times gone by help make the days a little easier. - Posted by: Alice Reimer (Friend) on: Nov 23, 2025
