ANDREA LYNN BRADIE

It is with great sadness that Andrea Lynn Bradie (McDonald), our dear sister, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025.

Andrea was predeceased by her father Kenneth George McDonald and mother Dorothy Lillian McDonald (Johnstone) of Winnipeg.

Left to mourn is her sister Susan Kolody (McDonald); her son Sean Collins; her daughter Jodi Einarsson (Collins); and her grandsons, Thomas, Spencer and Daniel Einarsson and her many friends. She is truly missed.

Andrea was born and raised in West Kildonan, graduating from West Kildonan Collegiate. She was active in school with the Drama Club and had long lasting friendships.

Andrea’s career with the Government of Canada started in 1976, advancing to various departments with promotions within Public Works. She transferred for a brief time to Saskatoon then transferred back to Winnipeg. After 30 years of service, Andrea ultimately retired in 2006 as the Director of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada with National Defence.

Andrea supported and was the first to volunteer for charities and put herself completely into anything that she cared passionately about. This included support of the Prairie Theatre, the Humane Society, feral cats and the Wildlife Centre and so many others. She was passionate about art, creating some lovely pieces of her own and had a collection of local artist’s works.

She loved Winnipeg, particularly her Woodhaven Community, where she was very involved in the safety of the neighbourhood. She loved gardening and took pride in her home. She touched many lives in the community.

Sincere thanks to all the staff for their care at the Grace Hospital, the homecare nurses with CIV and Palliative care including Riverview.

In keeping with Andrea’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.
