It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of
Lynn Kawecki on Thursday, December 11, 2025. With Gord by her side, Lynn passed away following complications from an emergency surgery.
She will be missed terribly by her loving husband of 56 years, Gord, daughter, Sara, Sister, Donna (Chris), brother, Ron (Delores), nieces, Cheryl (Tom), Kim (Ernie), Tricia (Jean-Francois), nephews Rick, Kevin (Tammy), Dan (Sarah) and Dale, great niece, Samara, and best friend, Margaret, as well as extended family and friends.
Lynn was predeceased by mother, Melina, sister, Marlene, aunts, Alia and Cecile, Father-in-law, Ed and mother-in-law, Anne.
Born in Winnipeg, she grew up in St. Boniface. Lynn had an incredible work ethic, first in various administrative positions, before joining the University of Manitoba, where she retired from Extended Education after 20 years.
Lynn and Gord met in 1968, as teens, working part time at St. Boniface Hospital and married in 1970. They moved around in those first few years for work, before ultimately coming back home in 1979 where they went on to create a beautiful life together, truly inseparable until the very end.
Lynn had a huge heart with a positive and upbeat outlook on life. She always liked to have a good laugh with friends. She will be missed by everyone’s life she touched, and would want us all to remember her with smiles and laughter.
In keeping with Lynn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choosing.
