Peacefully with family by her side, Joan passed away on December 23, 2025, at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, at the age of 90.
Joan was a loving and devoted mother of Karen (John), Randy (Teri) and Sandra (Blake), and a loving sister to Valerie (Ray). She will be especially missed but remembered lovingly by her grandchildren, (Brett, Tara, Joe and Robert) and seven great-grandchildren, (Theo, Callum, Cohen, Nicholas, Joshua, Everett and Jacob), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Joan was predeceased in 2007 by Ted, her husband of nearly 53 years, her father, Jimmy Tyler (1965) and mother, Emily Tyler (2002).
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for the attention and loving care they provided to Joan, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff in the Grace Hospital, 5-North, and Riverview Health Centre, 2-East.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Road, Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8.
