Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. MARGARET (MARNIE) FRAIN
Passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 29, 2026, in Montreal.
Marnie will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Avrum Rosner; daughter Hardial; son-in-law Randy; sisters Nancy (Rene) and Jennifer (Matthew); brother Charles; brother-in-law Cecil (Harriet); and her nieces and nephews. Beloved "Maca" to her grandson Noam, whom she loved immensely.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dr. Frain fought for the working class throughout her life. Having moved to Montreal after graduating from the University of Manitoba Medical School, she opened a family practice in Ville St. Pierre, caring for patients for 26 years before moving to St. Sauveur and working with geriatric patients in CHSLDs across the Laurentians for another 15 years. With an unparalleled dedication to her patients and the practice of medicine, she continued working towards and advocating for the improvement of patient care until her last days.
Marnie will be remembered by friends and family for her warmth, kindness, and generosity. She shared her love through cooking, and welcomed all to her home in St. Sauveur, where she spent days swimming in the lake, reading books on the balcony, and enjoying all the gifts of nature.
Memories of Marnie can be shared with her family by writing to rememberingmarnie@gmail.com.

Marnie was a year older and introduced my sister and me to water skiing over 50 years ago at their Pistol Lake cottage. It was a more fun time then, before we had to apply ourselves to more serious assignments in life. Our condolences to Nancy, Charles and Jennifer. - Posted by: David Lyon (summer friends as teenagers) on: Feb 09, 2026
