BRIAN KLAUS HERRMANN

It is with profound sadness that we are announcing the passing of our beloved Brian.

Brian was born in Brandon, MB on September 8, 1962. He passed peacefully on February 4, 2026 in Victoria BC after a long, hard fought battle with colon cancer. Brian loved nothing more than riding his motorcycle, being with his friends, hunting and fishing. Mourning his loss is his mother Lola Popovits, his sister Maren Kallstrom, nephew Adam Clark, niece Taylor Kallstrom, his great-nephew Ethan Heavenor and his lifelong, best friend Brad Dick. He will also be missed by his aunts, uncle and his many cousins. Brian was predeceased by his father, Klaus Herrmann, his other dad Bill Popovits and his brother-in-law Rick Kallstrom.

We would like to thank all of Brian's friends for keeping him in their thoughts and prayers. Your texts and calls meant so much to him and always brightened his day. We will miss and love Brian forever but are thankful that his suffering is over.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 26, 2026 at the Victoria Inn from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We invite you to share your stories about Brian at this time.

Ruhe in Frieden, mein Jung.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I first met Brian in 2013 when i joined the Crisis Negotiation team. He was a founding member and became a mentor to me, imprinting his wealth of knowledge on me. We also had a shared past with 26th Field Regiment and certain sports which increased the bond between us. After Brian's retirement we drifted apart but when I heard that he was sick I reached out and reconnected. Unfortunately when I was in Victoria, Brian was not well enough to meet me but we had a lengthy phone conversation that i will cherish until i see him again. In the loss of Brian, i offer my deepest condolences and prayers to his family and friends. I take comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering from this horrendous disease but at the same time he is gone far to soon. End of mission, End of watch, Rest easy Brother. - Posted by: Kris Bowman (Crisis Negotiation Team mate) on: Mar 04, 2026

  • So very sorry for your loss. Brian and I went on our motorcycles a couple years back together. It seemed all our problems left us. It was a great day. - Posted by: Kai petersen (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2026
