AGNES MARIE MARTHE

ST. PIERRE

(nee PAULHUS)

January 13, 1938 - February 20, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Agnès St. Pierre, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Agnès was born in Moose Jaw, SK, and spent her early years in Willow Bunch, SK, where her father worked as a coal miner. Her family later moved to St. Boniface, MB, where she attended school and helped run the family boarding house. She married Laurent (Larry) in 1957, starting a family shortly thereafter. In 1974, Agnès and Larry settled in St. Vital, where they lived for 52 years.

Mom was a devoted caregiver. She looked after her grandmother, father, and mother while raising her own family. Her compassion led her back to school in midlife to become a nurse. She loved caring for the elderly at Vista Park Lodge and Foyer Valade, providing special attention to those residents without family.

Mom gave generously to her community, serving faithfully in the parishes she attended and volunteering with groups like Girl Guides and the Catholic Women’s League. She enjoyed gardening, playing piano and bowling. As well, she remained a steady, loving force in the lives of her family - even from afar.

Agnès was predeceased by her mother Yvonne, her father Josephat and her husband, Larry. She will be greatly missed by her children, Yvonne (Anthony), Daniel, Dennis (Kim), and Mike, as well as her grandchildren, Austin (Courtney), Tya, James, Jem, Telum, and Sunny, and great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Axxle. Her extended family members and friends will also keep her in their hearts.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes, a funeral mass will be held at St. Émile Catholic Church, with details to follow later.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paul Daeninck and staff at CancerCare MB, Dr. Jean Prenovault with the 4 North nursing staff at Victoria General Hospital and Dr. Bruce Martin, Palliative Care physician for their excellent care during Mom’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Agnès’ memory to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (www.cancercare.mb.ca).
