RANDALL MICHAEL BUTTASSY

July 25, 1954 - March 21, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Randall Buttassy on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Randall spent his career as an Orderly at St. Boniface Hospital, where he worked for many years until his retirement. Over the years, he dedicated much of his time to volunteering, notably with Folklorama, and he truly cherished the simple pleasure of getting together and spending time with his friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Linda (Stephen) and Maureen (John), along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Randall will also be deeply missed by his faithful companion and furry friend, Pepper.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care and support provided to Randall.

In accordance with Randall’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Randall’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

  • Our deepest condolences to Linda, Maureen and their families. We have many great memories as neighbours for many years. Anytime we met up with Randy over the years we always had great conversations and got caught up on the latest family news. Rest In Peace Randy.🙏 - Posted by: Pat & Sal Carvelli (Neighbour) on: Mar 30, 2026

  • Sad to hear this. 💔 I loved his sarcastic comebacks and how he took care of the department’s social calendar and his amazing breakfasts that he cooked for us in the ambulance bay. How he managed to find the wards in the hospital that were having potlucks on the days he was working. He was well fed 😂 and well liked. He was kind and respectful to the patients and they appreciated his sense of humour at the nurses expense 🤣 I know I did and I missed him when he left the department. Rest easy Randy. ☮️✝️💟 - Posted by: Leslie Busby (Work colleague) on: Mar 28, 2026

  • I used to work with Randy at St. B ER. He was always a pleasure to work with and he had a great sense of humour. Condolences to his family. - Posted by: Maggie (friend, coworker) on: Mar 28, 2026

  • There are so many memories from when we were kids of the quirky guy next door that always was quick with a story or funny come back. That connection continued when we grew up and had kids. They came to know and love Randy for those same reasons. Always a fun time when he’d pop in. You will be missed and remembered fondly. We send our deepest condolences to your family. - Posted by: Letvak/ Franklin family (Neighbour) on: Mar 28, 2026
