Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Helen was a longtime friend and she will be missed. My deepest sympathies to the family. We had known each other for many years starting in Edmonton and then in Ottawa. And I truly enjoyed our telephone conversations in the later years. Love Aline Fraser - Posted by: Aline Fraser (Longtime friend) on: Apr 15, 2026

  • My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this difficult time. Your Mom was a wonderful woman and I know that her siblings will be waiting to greet her with open arms. She is now at peace and home. Love to all of you! ❤️Rosemary Scott xo - Posted by: Rosemary Scott (Niece) on: Apr 08, 2026

  • My dear Aunty Helen, I will always hold deep in my heart the memories shared of special times growing up. You always had the biggest smile and kindest heart. I will miss the phone calls we shared so very much. And on those difficult days when you had a hard time hearing, I would tell you to just keep hugging your bunny, (You know what I mean). To all the Deegan family, my deepest condolences. Your mom was a very special person and will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace Aunty Helen. My prayers are with you and your family. 🙏 - Posted by: Joanne Waddington (Vickets) (Niece) on: Apr 07, 2026

  • Helen and Helen’s sister (the Vuckets girls, I can’t remember her first name) went to St. Mary’s Academy & were ahead of me in school. Her sister and family lived on McMasters near us in Ft. Richmond. I could see their house from my front door. Her sister’s girls (Corinne’s cousins) used to baby sit for me. We will watch for when her funeral/memorial will be planned so we can try to attend. At St. Paul's College, Helen was part of the front office staff. She was special in her dealings with students, faculty, and staff. I’ll always remember how well she looked after me and the Dean's affairs when I became college Dean in the 1990s. In my first days she placed small bouquets of flowers and greenery in my office from the Jean England garden in the front of the building. She was always proud of her children and kept us informed about all of their accomplishments! Now her work here is done. May she Rest in Peace. Amen 🙏 - Posted by: C (Friend from long ago.) on: Mar 28, 2026
