HELEN KATHERINE HERMANN

Helen Hermann, born January 23, 1936, passed away peacefully with family around on April 2, 2026, at the age of 90.

Helen lived a long and meaningful life marked by resilience, generosity, and an unwavering love for her family. Family was her passion and her greatest joy, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved. She was always there for her children - ready to help, listen, and support in any way she could - and her giving nature touched every life around her.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry; her parents; her son-in-law, Scott; and her brother, Otto.

Helen leaves to mourn her three children, Harold (Regan), Debbie, and Ron (Ruth); her six grandchildren, Kari (Ryan), Ashley (Greg), Raeanne (Paul), Ryan, Christine, and Nicole (Braden); her sister Anna; and nephews, Arnold and Michael, and their families.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and her focus for more than 32 years. She never missed a sporting event - rain or shine, performance, or activity, proudly cheering them on at every opportunity. She drove her children and grandchildren all over town to ensure they could pursue their passions, always happy to be behind the wheel if it meant supporting them. She cherished every moment spent babysitting, helping, and simply being present in their lives.

Helen had a natural instinct to care for others and was always, at heart, a nurse, even if she did not practice the profession for long. Her compassion extended beyond her family through her volunteer work with numerous organizations, where she generously gave her time and energy.

Helen’s deep faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she found great joy in singing.

She had a deep love for the cottage and time spent at the lake, where many treasured family memories were made. She also enjoyed winter vacations in Florida, where she loved walking along the beach - especially when joined by her children and grandchildren.

Known affectionately in her neighborhood as ‘the friendly woman with the little white dog,’ Helen was a familiar and beloved presence. She enjoyed her daily walks with her puppy and was always quick with a warm smile and a friendly conversation. She was popular with everyone she met and left a lasting impression through her kindness and genuine interest in others.

Helen loved to entertain and took great joy in cooking and baking for her family, delighting in treating her grandchildren and bringing everyone together. She was endlessly giving of her time, her love, and her energy.

Helen is lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever held in their hearts.

A private service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to do so to remember Helen in their own meaningful way.

The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to all the staff in B Wing at Middlechurch Care Home for all their compassionate care to our mom over the last four years.

Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.

“1-4-3” Mom (Grandma). “We love you a whole big, big bunch.” Auf Weidersehn and please watch over and guide us.
