LINDBLOOM Bradley Ryan

Bradley Ryan Lindbloom passed away suddenly on September 13, 2023, at his residence in Brandon. Brad was born in Souris, Manitoba on October 24, 1957, the second son of Oscar and Ethel Lindbloom.

Brad attended school in Souris, and after grade 11 chose to work with his dad building silos. His father’s work ethic was something that always influenced Brad’s own philosophy: work hard, be conscientious and treat people well. Brad went on to work in several different sectors throughout his life…from building grain bins, working as a DJ or problem solving with computers or cameras. In late 1980’s to early 1990’s, Brad, Craig and Blair operated the Avalon Theatre, video and sub shop in Souris.

Brad’s interests in technology, photography and movies often led to employment in these areas. Brad helped establish the Japan Camera store in Brandon and became its manager. He also worked in the camera department at Woolco, along with Computech and I-Net Link sourcing locations for communication towers.

Later, as Brad’s health declined due to complications with diabetes, the three brothers, Brad, Craig and Blair began living in Winnipeg House apartments. There, the brothers became involved in organizing community meals for special holidays, setting up BINGO and movie nights for the residents in the apartment building. The smell of theatre popcorn popping was always appealing to Brad so he purchased a high-quality popcorn maker to always have popcorn for those special events in the building. Brad had a quick wit just like his mom and could get anyone laughing.

Brad’s hobby was photography and over the years, he took beautiful photos which led to wedding photography. Brad was 40-year member of the Brandon Camera Club and was made an honourary life member of the club. He had very kind and supportive mentors in the late Jim Atkinson and Patrick Stone. Their friendship and support throughout his life were very important to him. Jim and Brad offered photography workshops with Camera Canada College and at Assiniboine College’s evening programs. As Brad’s mobility diminished, his participation with the club slowed but his love for the hobby never faded.

At the time of his death, Brad’s surviving family members included his brothers Craig (who passed away earlier this year on March 31, 2026) and Blair, nieces Kirsten (Linda Kvall) and Erika (Chris) Pearson and their children Jayme and Dustin as well as many relatives on both the Lindbloom and Shiels sides of the family.

Brad was predeceased by his parents Oscar and Ethel (Shiels), brother Randy (and his wife Alison), as well as many relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Napinka Cemetery Fund, Box 101, Napinka, MB, R0M 1N0, Diabetes Canada or to a charity of choice.

A graveside service for Brad and his brother Craig will be held at the Napinka Cemetery on Thursday June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Napinka Community Centre, 57 Souris Street, Napinka.

Our thanks to Brockie Donovan Funeral Home, Brandon, MB for their care and support throughout our funeral planning.
