Deborah (Debbie) Leah Martin, aged 77, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away in her sleep on April 27, 2026. Born in Edmonton, Alberta on August 22, 1948, she was known for her joy of reading, her keen intellect, and her quick wit. She loved puzzles, dogs, laughing, and had a great passion for her independence.
She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Silver and Judith Doctoroff and her children, Reuben Segelbaum (Carolyn Katz) of Toronto, Canada, Jason Segelbaum (Lauren Schiowitz) of Hollywood, Florida, Michael Segelbaum (Tickey Singh) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Trina Segelbaum of Edmonton, AB. Debbie loved her five grandchildren, Gabriel, Bella, Maxine, Max, and Hannah. She was predeceased in death by her father Gabiel Martin and her mother Sarah Martin.
A graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 29th at the Hebrew Sick Cemetery in Winnipeg. Shiva will be held privately in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Hollywood Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jewish Federation of Winnipeg or the Friends of the Winnipeg Public Library.
