CONSTANCE (CONNIE) EVELYN GELEAN

It is with great sadness, that our mom, Constance (Connie) Evelyn Gelean, passed away on May 8, 2026, in Winnipeg MB. She was 79 years old.

Our mom was born on May 31,1947, in Charlotte Town, Prince Edward Island. She left there when she was a very young child. Although she only returned there once as an adult, she held a great fondness for her birth place.

She was predeceased by her daughter Tammy, Constance Gelean (Connie) and by her parents, Havilland E Craig, Irene (Anderson) Craig and her brother Edward Craig.

Connie is survived by her two son’s, and their spouses; Larry Robert Gelean (Gale) and Heath Havilland Gelean (Lorelie). She has five grandchildren; Tamatha MacKenzie/Gelean, Brie-Ann Bourcier (Kyle), Taylor Anderson (Ryan), Gunther Gelean and Gage Gelean, and three great-grandchildren; Tayvin Bourcier, Easton Bourcier and Luna Berens. Connie also has two other siblings, Bob Craig and Penny Craig.

It is with great gratitude and thankfulness to Penny and Taylor for taking care of her in the last year of her life. Our sister Connie was born with Spina Bifada, so our mom spent a lot of time in hospitals. It was here that our mom volunteered in the maternity wards where she would hold newborns that have been orphaned.

Many years ago she got a nickname (Sky Pilot). She would help anyone, and drive them anywhere, but she was always late, so she was always rushing and driving fast.

Although she spent the majority of her life in Winnipeg, MB; she lived in Calgary for a number of years and fell in love with the city and the mountains.

Our mom had beautiful penmanship and loved to write. A proud moment for her, was when she was published in a rural newspaper for her story of “ The Life of an Osprey “ that lived close to her home.

It is our mom’s wishes that no service be held. She wishes to be cremated and to have her ashes placed with her parents in Balsam Bay MB.

Matthew 14:28: Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
