Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS WILLIAM NEAL
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas William Neal of Rivers, Manitoba, formerly of Oak River, Manitoba. Tom was born in Hamiota on January 4, 1950, to Mabel (nee Gerrard) and Stanley Neal. He grew up the 4th of 5 siblings on the family farm. Tom attended school in Oak River.
At the age of 19 he married the love of his life, Carmen Hornibrook. They moved to Fernie, BC where Tom worked at an open pit coal mine for two years. They moved to Rivers and shortly thereafter Tom took over the family farm for his father. They expanded the farm where they grew grain and raised cattle while raising two children. After Carmen passed away Tom sold the farm and briefly moved to Rivers. Missing the farm life, Tom purchased the old Ratz farm south of Wheatland where he lived for the rest of his life.
Tom loved all aspects of farm life. He enjoyed a good thunderstorm, kept up with politics, and found pleasure in watching a good curling game with his cat Daisy.
Tom is survived by his children Gerry and Coralie (Scott); his two treasured granddaughters Taylor and Kaitlyn; and his brother Larry (Carla).
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Carmen, his parents Mabel and Stanley, his sister Diane, and his brothers Bob and Jim.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to your local pet rescue of choice.
