It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Randolph “Randy” Zihrul, who passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 73 with his wife by his side. Together, they shared the last 51 years of their lives.
Born on March 13, 1953, Randy lived a life marked by dedication to his family, profession, and community. After obtaining a degree in Biochemistry, he began his career at the Brandon Mental Health Centre laboratory, where he worked until its closure. He then continued his career with Westman Laboratory, where he faithfully served for 35 years before retiring.
Randy was predeceased by his parents, Rudy and Edith Zihrul.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Pam; his sons, Jim (Eleni) and Rob; and his cherished grandchildren, Dimitris, George, and Iliana. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who took great joy in spending time with his family.
An avid outdoorsman, Randy enjoyed travelling and exploring new places. He found peace and happiness in fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Alongside Pam, he enjoyed many years participating in baseball, golfing, and curling, sharing both friendship and community through sport. Randy was also a longtime member of a bowling league, where he enjoyed camaraderie and friendly competition. A dedicated volunteer with the local curling club, he was actively involved in managing his sons' hockey teams, generously giving his time to support the activities and communities that meant so much to his family.
Randy will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 114 Ashgrove Blvd, Brandon.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all those who have offered support and compassion during this difficult time.
