LORNA MAY MCKIBBON
Passed away at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the age of 97 years, Lorna May McKibbon (nee Patterson), of Wawanesa, MB.
Born December 25, 1928, Lorna is predeceased by her husband Jack (2006), son Cal (2011), brother Ed Patterson, sister and brother-in-law Louise and Jack Fraser, brother-in-law Wes Brown; parents Alf and Evelyn Patterson and by mother and father-in-law Vera and Hiram McKibbon.
Lorna is survived by her daughter Corinne (Craig) Downey, grandchildren Bond (Natasha) Ward, Brooke Ward (Glen Smethurst) and Madeleine McKibbon (Andrew Nguyen); Great-grandchildren Emma, Jackson, Walker, Payton & Clark; Step-grandchildren Tyler (Devon) Downey, Joel, Kate (Scott) Young and step-great-grandchildren Harley, Beau & Zoey.
She is also survived by her sister Viola Brown and sister-in-law Shirley Patterson as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A Celebration of Lorna’ life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Wawanesa United Church with Shirley McBurney officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Wawanesa Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in Lorna’s memory to the Wawanesa Minor Sports, Box 91, Wawanesa, MB, R0K 2G0.
