RONALD ARTHUR MANN

May 4, 1947 - July 2, 2026

It is with profound sorrow that our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Ron Mann. He was outside working in the yard when he unexpectedly passed on July 2, 2026.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife Janice (Phillips), 'favourite' daughter Ronda, son Ken (Martina), granddaughters, Lexi and Livi, sister Beverly Gilbert, brother George (Karen), brother-in-law David Phillips, sister-in-law Susan Phillips and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He will be greatly missed by many including life-long best friends, Les and June Brent.

Ron was predeceased by his father Arthur, mother Viola (Borushynski) and brother Doug.

He was raised in Winnipeg growing up in Elmwood where he attended Sir Sam Steele, Elmwood High and Tec-Voc.

While attending Elmwood High, Ron met the love of his life Janice where together they shared a loving marriage of 58 years.

He began his career as a pipefitter with CP Rail at the Weston Shops retiring after 35 plus years in the Winnipeg Yard / Car Department in 2002.

In retirement he spent his time doing the things he loved. Ron, Janice and family spent many summers at their lake near Lac Du Bonnet where he was a longstanding member of Heather Game & Fish.

Always a traveller he loved camping in the Whiteshell, cottage time at Caddy Lake, visiting family across Canada/USA, exploring Australia and Europe along with annual winter get-aways to Puerto Vallarta.

Ron also enjoyed years volunteering at Oxford Heights coaching many ringette, hockey and baseball teams with long-time family friend John Pelletier. He became his granddaughters number one fan cheering them on in soccer, ringette, hockey and volleyball.

Ron attended Jets and Bomber games with his family never missing an opportunity to cheer them on. Game nights at home meant colorful discussions with 'favourite' daughter Ronda on the status of the team and players, usually over a game of cards.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the fall 2026.
