DONALD WILSON MUNRO
July 15, 2026, Don peacefully passed away at Grace Hospital after a period of declining health.
Don was a chemistry and physics teacher with degrees from the U of M and Oregon universities. He volunteered as coach for sports, such as badminton and took many students on camping/hiking trips during his years at Pierre Radisson Collegiate.
Don was a keen sports fan, and he participated in baseball, handball, hockey and golf. He had been a member at Niakwa Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing in Scotland, Bermuda, and courses in the USA.
He and Phyllis had many memorable cruises in Europe, Caribbean, South America and Asia and vacations in western Canada and winter holidays in Florida, Arizona, and California.
Don valued his friendships with many longtime friends. The Dodson family met him 60 years ago, while teaching in Wainright Alberta. Paddling and bicycling with Ken was enjoyed for many years. Visits and phone calls with his friends were much appreciated.
Don's years of cottage life, at his various cottages, were special to him.
Don leaves his sister Gwen Muldrew; and nephews, Craig (Jeanine), Ken (Terry and family), Shawn (Kristan and family), Sandy. Don also leaves his longtime companion Phyllis Hall.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, at Niakwa Country Club.
