VINCENZO (VINCE) BUETI
After a courageous battle with cancer, with his family at his side, Vince passed away on August 7, 2026, at 67 years of age at the Health Sciences Centre.
Vince leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 34 years, Liana, his daughters, Antonietta (fiancé Stuart Lyner) and Domenica (fiancé Synjyn Biluan); mother, Antonia, brothers, Frank (Palmira) and Joe (Regan), sister, Caterina (Ralph Wong), sisters-in-law, Connie Virgilio and Maria Di Bernardo (Greg Stokotelny). He is survived by his uncles Antonino Spezzano, Serafino Spezzano (Johanna), and his aunt Angelina Cotroneo and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada, Italy and Australia.
He was predeceased by his father Diego Bueti and numerous uncles and aunts.
Vince was born on September 9, 1958, in Winnipeg. During the 1950s and 1960s, virtually the entire Bueti and Spezzano families moved from the town of San Roberto, Reggio Calabria, Italy to Winnipeg. He was the first Canadian born member of the Bueti and Spezzano families. As the son of Italian immigrants, he faced significant challenges as a child and young man both academically and socially. It was these challenges that forged his character and personality including his fierce competitiveness, strength of will, perseverance, and loyalty to family and friends.
Vince completed high school at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He graduated with honors from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Commerce in 1981. He completed his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation with the firm Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst and Young) in 1984. Shortly thereafter, he joined his uncles Antonino and Serafino, at A&S Homes. As CFO, Vince was a key member of A&S Homes from the date he joined the company until his passing. His colleagues, friends and family valued and respected his wisdom, loyalty, leadership and legendary work ethic. Vince was someone others could always turn to for wise counsel and thoughtful advice.
Vince was truly larger than life. Known for his incredible stories, quick wit, infectious energy, and legendary dance moves, he brought laughter and joy wherever he went. Vince was hardworking and generous, but his greatest pride and joy was always his family.
As Vince grew older, his Catholic faith became a deep and integral part of his life. His family takes comfort in their faith and in knowing that this is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Szwajcer, the entire Oncology and GD6 teams, and the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Health Sciences Centre for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness shown to Vince and his family throughout his journey. The doctors, nurses, and unit assistants involved in Vince’s care are truly real life angels.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue. Condolences will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery at 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, Manitoba.
Pallbearers will be Frank Spezzano, Frank Albanese, Adam Virgilio, Diego Bueti, Angelo D’Ottavio, John Medeiros, Alan Borger, and Gino Allegro, and Honorary Pallbearer William Vis.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
