BRIAN THOMAS KNIGHT

It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Brian Thomas Knight, aged 57, of Brandon, Manitoba, on September 14, 2026, at Brandon Regional Health Centre.

Brian was born and raised in Brandon, a place he was proud to call home. He spent more than 30 years working at Brandon Regional Health Centre in various departments before retiring. Over those years, he became part of the fabric of the place and touched the lives of many people along the way.

Brian leaves behind the love of his life, Sherry; his children, Gregory, Jessica and Stephanie (Ian); and his seven precious grandchildren, Brooklyn, Max, Maddie-Lynn, Ethan, Bennett, Oakleigh and Adaleigh. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Barbara Knight; his sister, Valerie Carson (John); nieces, Juliet and Lamaya; and the many family members and friends who were blessed to share a piece of his life. Brian was predeceased by his father, Bob Knight, on July 10, 2016.

Brian was, in every sense, his own person. Anyone who knew him knew that he could be a hard nut to crack. He didn’t necessarily let everyone in, and earning a place in Brian’s circle was something special. But once you were there, you weren’t just a friend - you were family. And Brian loved his family fiercely. He lived life at full throttle. There was never much point in telling Brian to slow down when he had his mind made up. He embraced life, its ups and downs, and everything that came his way with a spirit that was uniquely his. Brian was a true sports lover and could always be counted on to be watching his beloved Winnipeg Jets. He also loved the complete opposite of all that excitement - the peace and quiet of being by the water, rod in hand, fishing and enjoying a little time to himself. One of the things his family is most proud of is Brian’s journey to sobriety. It was a journey that took courage, strength and determination. His family celebrated his victories, cheered him on, and stood proudly beside him every step of the way. His journey meant so much to those who loved him, and they will forever be proud of the man he became along the way. Brian’s life may have been full throttle, but it was also full of people who loved him. He leaves behind stories, laughter, memories and a whole lot of people who will miss his presence in their lives. There will never be another Brian. He was one of a kind, and for those lucky enough to call him family or friend, he will always have a place in their hearts.

A public time of visitation will be held at Brockie Donovan Funeral Home, 332-8th Street on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Wednesday September 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
