Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY KOWALCHUK It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear and beloved mother, Mary on the morning of September 7, 1999 at the Health Sciences Centre. Mom was born on January 1, 1921 and lived in Winnipeg all her life. In 1943 she married my father Peter with whom she spent 54 years together. Moms life was not without hardship. She lost her mother at an early age and cared for her ailing father. Nevertheless her strong religious upbringing and faith in God enabled her to persevere. In 1987 dad suffered a stroke and mother remained his constant companion and caregiver until his passing in 1998. Moms devotion to God and her church was a constant source of strength and joy during her happy and difficult times. Mom leaves to mourn her passing, her only son Dennis; daughter-in-law Anna; granddaughter Marilyn (Tony). She was predeceased by her husband Peter; her parents; a sister Lily; a brother Louis. Mom was a constant source of strength and encouragement always offering her support and placed her familys needs above her own. Mom will be greatly missed by her family, leaving a void in the hearts of those that knew and loved her. Prayers will be said Monday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. with Rev. Fr. Joe Pidskalny, O.S.B.M. officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
