ROSA BARCELOS BORGES September 15, 1923- November 4, 1999 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma. Rosa Borges was born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, in the town of Vilha Nova. She moved to Winnipeg in 1975. Rosa was predeceased by her husband Manuel on March 23, 1977. She is survived by her seven children, Manuel Goncalves, Maria (Tim) Boldt, Rosa (Teotonio) Godinho, Lusia Hill, Connie Borges, Alexandre Borges, and Adelino Borges. She is lovingly remembered by her 17 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews in Ontario, and Portugal, and a last good-bye from her best friend Senhora Louisa and all her other friends at the Baptist Mission apartment block at 777 Sargent Avenue. In honor of Rosa Borges body and soul, a free spirit, prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 8 at Igreja Imaculada Conceicao Church, 181 Austin Street.
