LEONA PRETEAU May 30, 1917 - November 13, 1999 Peacefully, with her five daughters at her side, after a long illness, Leona Preteau passed away at the Repos-Jolys in St. Pierre, MB at the age of 82 years. Leona leaves to mourn her passing, her daughters, Paulette Marcotte, Aline Sveinson (Paul), Jeannette Trudel (Real), Rita Coulombe (Maurice), Claudette Remillard (Jacques) grandchildren, Johanne Pitiot (Yvon), Mona Marcotte, Dean Marcotte, Michelle Matwiy (Jarod), Tim Baylis (Debbie), Jonathan Baylis (fiancee Jennifer), Marlene Rey (Scott), Denis Trudel (Charlene) and Roxanne Trudel, Jean Coulombe (Michelle), Robert Coulombe (Nicole), Sherisse Harder (Curt), Jason Remillard, Ronnie Remillard; great- grandchildren, Stephanie and Rebecca Pitiot, Jordan and Jasmine Kozier, Samantha, Braden and Brett Rey, Ryley and Lexie Trudel, Bailey Harder. She also leaves three sisters, Simone Gentes, Helene Dubois and Marie Maynard and one brother, Arthur Cote; as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Valentine Cote; her husband Jean and brothers, Noel, Adelard and sister Alice. Leona was born in Ponteix, SK on May 30, 1917 to Albert Cote and Valentine Malo. She married Jean Preteau on September 12, 1941 and they raised five daughters in St. Malo, MB. Leona was a gentle person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to knit and sew for them. She worked hard all of her life until poor health forced her to stay home. Through her long illness, she kept her wonderful sense of humour and pleasant personality. She also loved to travel and enjoyed her flowers. The family would like to thank the staff of the Repos-Jolys for their kind and considerate care. Funeral services for Leona will be held at the Saint-Malo Roman Catholic Church in Saint-Malo, MB on Monday, November 15. Father Gaetan Lefebvre will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. Prayer service and viewing will take place prior to the mass at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place in the Saint-Malo Parish Cemetery following the mass.
